First day. New job. Already late.

Posted on Mon Sep 29th, 2014 @ 5:14pm by Lieutenant Commander Aryll LeStrat

Mission: Let the Games Begin
Location: shuttlecraft "Archimedes"

Aryll glowered at the shuttle pilot, for not the first time, in the three hour journey. He had certainly deserved her frosty look. An inherited gift from her father's mother.

She had barely spoken to him, since he had shown up, six hours late.

Because he had been drinking with the Chief sec/tac, the night before.

"Now approaching, Starbase 80, ma'am."

"Good." Aryll said. She did not stop glaring at him.

Upon touching the craft down in the shuttle docking bay, she had finally stored up enough rage that she couldn't hold back.

"SOME OF US TAKE OUR JOB SERIOUSLY, YOU KNOW? I COULD BE DEMOTED FOR THIS!" She yelled at him, as he hastily unloaded her bags. "I WAS SUPPOSED TO MEET MY NEW COMMANDING OFFICER. FOUR HOURS AGO."

"Sorry, 1st lieu-" the pilot paused, remembering her new rank. "Lieutenant." He amended.

"You'd better be sorry. When I get through writing up my complaint, you and Chief Barbie will have a lot of explaining to do." She said, sharply.

"Chief Barbie? Have you no respect for-"

"SAYS THE MAN WHO WAS SIX HOURS LATE ON A PRIORITY DELIVERY, BECAUSE HE WAS HAVING INTERCOURSE WITH A SUPERIOR OFFICER? YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR OWN BACKYARD, BEFORE YOU START COMPLAINING ABOUT MY WEEDING SKILLS." Aryll's voice, now in full "drill instructor mode", was audible in most parts of the docking bay.

"Keep your voice down." He muttered, stepping back in to his shuttle.

"Go blow a-" she paused as the doors closed. "It really doesn't matter, it's probably better than that cowardly wench who hid in her closet, when the Cardassians killed Captain LeStrat."

She muttered. She grabbed a nearby discarded PADD, and looked up the location of her quarters. Then, she programmed an anti-grav to deliver her stuff there. Putting her cane on the anti-grav, she took the leg brace, and snapped it on. "Engage safety. Activate." She instructed.

She nearly fell over, every time it turned on, as the device snapped in to place, and sharply placed micro-electric discharge cathodes against the nerve endings in her leg.

Then she stood up, and walked. A slow walk, at first, but slowly, her pace accelerated, as the soft "zzt, zzt" sound of her brace activating, became slowly more rhythmic.

"Computer. Locate the Commanding Officer." She noted.

"The Commander of this station is currently in briefing room-" the computer began.

"Send directions to PADD number-" she paused, flipping it over. "18564-alpha Delta 7-omega epsilon."
