Arriving On Board

Location: Shuttle Transport & Shuttle Bay
The shuttle touched down at an arch. The exhaust dusting pieces of paper and debris from the landing pad. A lone security officer monitored the shuttle landing as he walked over to the down ramp. A second shuttle landed on the adjacent pad. It was a much larger, much similar to a marine troop transport shuttle. The back of that shuttle opened up as roughly two dozen men and women, all in security yellow uniforms, burst out running down the ramp and gathered at the down ramp of Gates's shuttle. Two Lieutenants JGs moving toward the front of the group.
Gates stepped out of his shuttle and walked down the down ramp. He approached the Warrant Officer as the two dozen security officers were seen by his peripheral vision in the back ground. The two Lieutenants JGs at the front
"Welcome on board Starbase 80, Commander Gates, I am Staff Warrant Officer Titus Riario, Acting Chief of Security on board"
"Thank you, Staff Warrant Officer.... Venice?"
"Florence, sir, but close enough."
They both giggled.
"I have a few cousins from Florence, I am sure we will be great colleagues just knowing that."
"Aye, I agree."
"So, before I step on board any further, what is the single most issue you are currently facing on board this station?
Riario wiped his brow.
"Where do I begin...... I would say keeping chaos and anarchy in check down in the lower decks."
"Are those lower decks residential?" Gates asked.
"Yes, sir. The size of this station has stretched my team thin. The previous Chief of Security evacuated and took half the compliment. I would estimate the ratio puts three security officers for every 5 decks. We are stretched to the limits given the size of each deck."
"Understood Warrant Officer-"
Gates walked passed Riario and stared at the two dozen security officers assembled, handpicked by Gates. They are all good officers and men that have served Gates on previous assignments. The security officers have been divided into two teams, each with an Lieutenant JG commanding.
"Lieutenant Anderson, you will double down security officers on the lower decks. Staff Warrant Officer Riario here will see to it you are familiar with where you are needed most."
Lieutenant Anderson acknowledged.
"Lieutenant Wicker, I want your men assigned to the most crucial areas of the station. Command, Armory, Medical, Cargo Bays, etc. Understood?"
Lieutenant Wicker gave a "Yes Sir" immediately. He was the newest Lieutenant he promoted so Gates made sure he was given the extra attention he deserved.
"Side arms and rifles are approved. Rules of engagement are to be strictly followed. Fire when fired upon. I want no deaths. Set weapons to stun only. The executive staff should start arriving by tomorrow so I want this station fully secured before they arrive. Hourly reports start in one hour. Move out."
The Lieutenants moved their men out, shouting orders. Gates turned back to Riario.
"Show me to the CIC, Mr. Riario"
"Aye sir, please come this way."
Riario escorted Gates to a nearby turbo lift. A wide screen view of the shuttle bay showed security officers being dispatched out to different locations of the station in pairs. A pair being placed at the shuttle platforms themselves.
