So far the flight deck had been a hive of activity. Currently the Squadron Leaders for Draco and Lynx were in passing the time in one of the pilot’s briefing rooms. Raina Setti turned to Ethan Kai, “I get the feeling we’ll all be out there before long. Tempest doesn’t sound pleased.”

“She’s never pleased when it all it’s the fan and we have no good Intel. I don’t want to say our Recon ended up in an ambush but it certainly sounds like it could be one major fur ball out there. For now all we can do is wait until we have orders,” Kai responded.

Pilots were never good at waiting. Especially when they didn’t have all the answers. Raina listened to Ethan with a nod. “We should make sure all preflights are complete and all three squadrons are ready to go. Tempest will be arriving in a hurry.” She didn’t want to say they would be launching hot but they had already passed that point some time ago.

“I’ll inform the Orion ground crews,” Ethan commented. Taking care of his Squadron and the Orion’s so that the CAG didn’t have anything to worry about. He had a feeling they were in for a very long night.

Raina was already on the comm with Draco’s ground crews. “Have the birds prepped for departure. Then have them ready to launch at Alert 5. Setti out.”

Letting out a sigh Raina’s attention drifted back to Ethan, “How about a card game to pass the time until we receive further orders?”

“Can’t think of a better idea at the moment Raina. What do you have in mind?” He found a place in one of the nearby chairs.

It didn’t take long for Setti to follow him. The were soon busy with a card game as a way to pass some more time. One way or another both had a feeling they'd be getting further orders soon.
