“Lieutenant, we are approaching the array.” Talia said over the communication system. She slowed down the runabout, allowing it to slowly drift towards array.

“I’m on my way.” Morgan responded. The doors to the aft section of the runabout opened and Morgan stepped through them heading towards the chair next to Talia. The rest of the team followed taking stations on either side of the runabout. “Put us 2km away from the array and hold our position there.”

“Roger that.” Talia responded. Her fingers gliding across the console in front of her as the runabout picked up some speed briefly then it came to a complete stop 2km away from the array.

The rest of the team began running scans on the array like they had discussed prior to arrival.

“I’m not picking up anything out of the ordinary.” Petty Officer Cole said. Her eyes focused on the readings in front of her. It was all normal.

Creman Jones who was sitting on the other side of the runabout added. “Same here. The array appears to be in perfect working order.”

“There has to be something…” Morgan said. There was a hint of frustration in her voice. “Run every scan you can think of.”

The team continued to scan and collect data but everything they came across was normal. There wasn’t any sign of foul play. After two hours they decided to take a break. Lt. Faye, Petty Officer Cole, and Crewman Jones headed to the aft section to start reviewing the data in more detail. Crewman Charles remained at his station. He continued to work on scanning.

Talia looked over at Crewman Charles. “Still nothing…?”

He shook his head looking at her. “Well, technically there is a lot going on but everything that is happening is normal behavior for the array.” He smiled.

“I know that!” She rolled her eyes. “I meant still nothing as it regards to whatever is causing that anomaly.”

He shook his head. “No, nothing.” He watched as Talia got up from her seat. She wandered over to his station and looked down at the readings.

“Wow! What is that…?” Talia asked. There was suddenly a reading on the screen in front of them that wasn’t there before. If she had to guess it was some type of a power built up inside the array.

Crewman Charles looked away from her and to the console in front of him. He quickly noticed the same reading as Talia had. It wasn’t there before. “I’m not sure!” His fingers moving across the console. “I'm attempting to identify it.”

They both looked at each other. Talia was concerned. “Should I move us away…?” She asked.

“It might be a safe precaution. I’m not sure what this reading is...but its definitely getting stronger and it is coming from the array.” He explained.

“I’m going to move us away.” Talia said and quickly made her way to her console.

“Lieutenant Faye!” Crewman Jones said as he opened up a communication channel to the back section of the runabout. “We have some strange readings up here. You should get up here!”

“I’m on my way!” Morgan responded.

In the meantime, Talia had began moving the runabout away from the array. They weren’t sure what the build up was but she wanted to be safe. She didn’t need anything exploding right in front of them.

Morgan along with Petty Officer Cole rushed to the front of the runabout and over to where Crewman Charles was sitting. It seemed that as soon as they had made their way to him the reading disappeared. Crewman Charles looked up at them with a confused look and before they could ask any questions he began explaining.

“There was suddenly some type of entry built up coming from the array. If I had to guess I would say that it was almost as if something was powering up but then suddenly it just stopped.” He looked at the console. He attempted to find it but it was gone. Everything was back to normal aboard the array.

Morgan accidently looked at the time on one of the consoles while he was explaining. “Strange…

“I agree.” Petty Officer Cole stated.

“No, look.” Morgan said pointing to the clock on the console.

Petty Officer Cole looked at the time then at Morgan. “It happened around the same time that it happens every day…”

Morgan nodded. “Yes.” Morgan looked at Crewman Charles. “Download the sensor readings and get them to me ASAP then continue scanning the array. We will analyze the readings you picked up.”

“Right away ma’am!” Charles stated.

Talia was already working on bringing the runabout back to its original position. It seemed that whatever the danger was that it has passed.

After a few minutes Crewman Charles had the readings for analysis. He delivered them to Lt. Morgan who was now in the back of the runabout then returned to his position.

“Well, that was fun!” Talia said as Charles returned to the front of the runabout.

“Yes, it was…” He took a seat. “It seemed to happen as soon as you walked over here…” He stated. “Maybe you should come back over...it might happen again.” He added jokingly.

Talia laughed. “You wish Crewman!”
