The transport carrying the new Chief Medical Officer from Earth arriving alittle ahead of schedule. Alexander was jarred awake as the transport docked with the starbase. It as been a long transport and he hadn't managed to get much sleep during the trip. To his relief, the transport was only about half filled. With no one seated next to him, he was able to stretch out.

It was the loud, overwhelming thoughts from the Andorian seated a couple rows behind Alexander that kept him awake most of the trip. Even though he was not 100 percent Betazoid, Alexander's telepathic abilities were quite strong and when he was fatigued, it was much harder to filter out and suppress all the voices in his head.

As the shuttle doors opened and the passengers began to gather their things and headed towards the exit. The dark haired physician stood and stretched before picking the dark grey leather bag in the seat next to him. He tossed the strap over his shoulder and exiting the transport and starting the next chapter in his life.

Alexander was able to find his new quarters without much difficulty. A Petty Officer was kind enough to escort him through the maze of corridors to new home. He placed the bag on the bed before explores the quarters. "Being a Senior Officer definitely has it rewards." The room was larger then what he had on the Iliad which was to be expected of a Starbase." The window outside provide an amazing view of the planet below. He removed a couple of pictures from the small bag and placed them next to the bed.

He ventured out into the replicator. "Computer, Cassia Oolong Tea hot." A moment later the replicator produced the desired beverage in a dark green mug. Alex held onto the mug to warm his hands as he looked out the window thinking about his parents and about how far he had come in such a short time.

After finishing off his tea, the Chief Medical Officer changed into his uniform and report for duty. "Computer, What is the current location of Commadore O'Shea."
