Mysterious Break In

Posted on Sun Jun 1st, 2014 @ 12:48am by Captain Jey Cleh & Petty Officer 1st Class Arianna D'Tal

Mission: New Frontier
Location: Captain Cleh's Quarters
Timeline: the night before "First order of business"

Lizzy had spent most of the day working on trying to repair one of the only few bio-beds that hadn't been completely destroyed during the Kzinti attacks. Now with her shift over, she finally made her way back to her quarters, glad that she could rest in peace and quiet.

As she entered, she tossed her PaDD on the chair. She was about to sit down on the sofa, when she noticed that the picture of her, and her sister sitting on the coffee table had been moved.

Immediately, she pulled her pistol, and started cautiously searching her quarters. As she reached the bedroom, she saw someone going through files on her bedroom terminal. The person's back was turned away from her, so they had no idea she was there just yet.

"Hold it right there!" Lizzy called out, and the woman standing over her computer froze. "Keep your hands where I can see them, and turn around. Try anything funny, and your reward will be a bullet!"

The woman turned to face her, but there was no way to tell who she was. Dressed in an all black jumpsuit, and a full head mask, she'd even gone to all the trouble of covering her eyes.

"Take the mask off." Lizzy demanded, and when she was met with only a slow shake of the head, Lizzy got mad. She stepped forward, aiming to remove the mask herself. "I said take it off!"

As soon as Lizzy was within arms reach of the woman, the woman grabbed her wrist, and barely managed to side step as the gun went off, the bullet ricochetting off the bulkhead. In one swift move, the mysterious intruder disarmed Lizzy, and tossed her to the floor.

Not even thinking about it, Lizzy kipped up onto her feet into a loose defensive stance. "Great... Now I have a fight on my hands!" She said as she stepped between her intruder, and the door. "You're not getting out of here, unless you go through me!"

The woman seemed to study her for a moment, before stepping towards her. She got close, and intended to simply push Lizzy backward, but just as she made contact with her, Lizzy turned her body, grabbing one of the woman's arms. She closed the woman off, and back-fisted her, causing her to stagger.

Regaining her balance, the woman in black hesitated for a moment, before putting her hands up in what was obviously a practiced fighting stance.

Lizzy waited for her to make her move, knowing she had the advantage in such a situation.

The woman stepped forward with a quick straight punch, but was caught off guard, when Lizzy grabbed the punch, pulling her into a side kick, which connected at her lower right ribs, and doubled her over. As she doubled over, Lizzy brought the same leg up, kicking her across the face, causing her knee to momentarily rest on the woman's arm, before bringing her foot back to kick her in the face again.

The intruder sprawled to the floor, laying there for a moment. Lizzy seemed satisfied, until she started to get back up.

Before she could, Lizzy moved to grab her, but was surprised at the sudden, and quick punch to the gut, which doubled her over. The woman stood her up, before decking her across the jaw.

The hit turned her around, and instinctively, Lizzy let loose with a back kick, which connected with her attacker in the same spot she had been kicked before.

The woman staggered back only a few steps, before quickly rushing her. She shoved Lizzy hard right out the bedroom door. Lizzy left the ground, knocking over a chair as she landed several feet away.

Seeing that Lizzy was stunned, the woman fled the room, holding her side where she had been kicked.

Moments later, Lizzy got to her feet, shaking off the disorientation. "This is why I hate people..." She said as she moved back into the bedroom to check the terminal. As she looked it over, she was relieved to find that her intruder hadn't managed to successfully hack her passwords.

Outside Lizzy's quarters, the woman in black ran for several meters down the corridor, before leaning against the bulkhead. She made sure no one was around, before pulling off her mask, revealing the face of Arianna D'Tal.

Light bruises were already forming on her face from where she was kicked, and as she pulled up her shirt a bit, a much larger, and more painful bruise was forming on her right side where she had been kicked.

It felt like a rib might've been cracked as she pulled her shirt down, and headed for her own quarters. Normally she'd fix this herself, but she no longer had access to a medical kit of her own. Now she was stuck wondering how she was going to get this taken care of, before someone noticed.
