She's an Engineer... I promise?

Mission: Bloodpath
Location: Planetary Base

Ritsu came across one of the planets ambulances that had been ferrying wounded to the medical facility from the city. However it was old and had broken down. It was sitting near the offload point, smoke coming from under the bonnet where the engine was and it had obviously seen better days.

She walked over to the old ambulance and lifted up the bonnet. Its engine was old and Ritsu loved the fact that she now had a chance to try and fix something which was actually older than her.
"Hmm" she said a song coming into her head. "This car could be, systamatic; hydromatic; ultramatic; why it could be Rits-Lightning!"

She pulled out a spanner from her pocket, twirled it in the air and began to sing as she literally dived head first into the engine.
"We'll get some overhead lifters and four barrel quads, oh yeah...." she was tapping inside the fueselage as she located the source of the smoke which was coming from the oil reserve.

"Fuel injection cutoffs and chrome plated rods, oh yeah". She tapped as she sang along as she drained the oil well and stopped the smoke. From far away all you could see was Ritsu, head first inside the car singing and tapping along to the song. "With a four-speed on the floor, they'll be waiting at the door. You know that ain't no s**t, we'll be getting lots of tit in Rits Lightning".

She was now down in the gearbox, giving it a weel good clean. The design wasn't much different to Earth's old internal combustion engines. She was actually enjoying herself. She then came to the chorus where she started to kick her legs, the sound of her spanner clinging and clanking could be heard.
"Go grease lightning, you're burning up the quarter mile!
Go grease lightning, you're coasting through the heat lap trials
You are supreme, the chicks'll cream for Greased lightning"

Ritsu couldn't help herself but sing. She wiped some grease off her face, smudging it slightly on her cheek with her sleeve and carried on. Swapping for a screwdriver she went to the spark plugs and began to work on them, to get the electrics working better. "Purple French taillights and thirty inch fins, oh yeah

With new pistons, plugs and shocks I can get off my rocks

The lights on top of the ambulance began to flash, as did the headlights. The horn sounded, however Ritsu fiddled with the wire and it stopped. She took the opportunity to have some fun, by pushing the wire against the contact she could make the horn sound. With a smile she started using the horn to sound out the tune of the song.

"Go Rits lightning, you're burning up the quarter mile!
Go Rits lightning, you're coasting through the heat lap trials
You are supreme, the chicks'll cream for Rits lightning" She sang in time with the horn, not really caring if anyone found this annoying. Plus it was rather tuneful.

She repeated the chorus a few times to end the song. Jumping out of the engine, grease and oil on her face and arms. She slammed down the bonnet and hopped over the bonnet of the cab to the drivers side.

She pulled open the door, still tapping the tune with her foot and then slid behind the wheel. The engine roared into life as she put her foot down on the accelerator. She shifted the gearstick into first gear and the ambulance took off, all while she was continuing the song.

She did a doughnut in the ambulance on some grass and then tried out a handbrake turn. With a quick jolt of the wheel she parked it next to the other ambulances.

"Lightning, lightning, lightning,Lightning, lightning, lightning, lightning, lightni...........in'" She sang as she got out, threw the keys with a wink to the crewman who managed the ambulances and then walked off tapping her foot as she walked.
