Duty Log

Today is the first day of a new existence for all of us: living without Rosaleen. It's so had to believe that she is gone. I can still hear her laughter, see her smile as she walks into a room...

Sometime, I really wonder why I let myself continue to get close to people. This universe is simply not fair in any fathomable way. Anyway...we have made it to Taranok, and it's an absolutely disorganized cluster here. Nobody knows what the other is doing. No planning...folks are just responding, and it is accomplishing nothing. Since we arrived we have made a start on forming an actual camp for all of the refugees pouring into the area, but we need much more in the way of supplies and personnel. Hopefully we start to see more deliveries soon. We did not meet any resistance on the way in...a significant change from the reception that the first team was treated to, but this won't last. The enemy already has air and ground assets in the field, and it's only a matter of time before they are supported.

Security is a huge issue now. People wander in and out of the encampment unchallenged. They could be stealing from us, spying, or even planting bombs and we would have no clue. We need to get our shit together before it's too late. That is, if it's already not.
