| Ambitions | To find a place for herself again, the former high flying officer is struggling with her new reality, and where she fits into it all. The acceptance that she can't be a commander and a mother at the same time was a crucial step for her to take, she yearned to be back on a ship again, and intends to make the best of this opportunity. |

| Personal History | =Early History= Born to a pair of parents who followed the diplomatic path, both of them aids to advisors to senior diplomats for the Betelgeusian people. This lead to a comfortable childhood if slightly lonely and disconnected. Both her, older brother and eventually younger sister were schooled by private tuition, each had a sepperate tutor, and had long hours on there own. Evie actually quite enjoyed certain aspects, history and the writer arts were a big draw for her. Which caused a fair amount of friction between her and her older brother who was decidedly physical in his outlook, seeking to emulate one of the species legendary hero's, he practiced any time he could and often used Evie as a opponent. Evie supprisigly didn't much care for this and took every opportunity to avoid him which lead to her seeking out, the odd hideaway here and there at first, it soon escalated and unfortunately for Evie her lack of street smartness led her into suspect company and almost into a blackmail situation. Her parents decided she needed more focus sent her to a boarding school and then put her in for Starfleet Academy, which despite her devil may care attitude scraped through.Service RecordHowever, one professor in particular, saw the potential he challenged the young woman, both in studies and in interpersonal skills, after one paticular stay behind session, the message finally got through. The message of being balanced, of admiting ones weekness and seeing true strength lay in a spirit of camaraderie and supporting another's strengths with her own, and that in such an environment original thinking could flurrish. =Starfleet Service= She graduated middle of her class, named class prankster, so things she's proud of to this day, and sported a working knowledge of a greater majority of starfleet ship support systems and components, as such she was cycled into the operations division and give a middle of the pile assignment, an older Excelsior-Class assigned to the core patrols. Evie reputation preceded her and she did not disappoint which was a good and bad thing, there were more than a few appearances in front of her division officers. Thankfully someone else to an interest a seasoned Bosun by the name of James Blake, the newly minted Warrant Officer took time to teach the newly minted Ensign the ways things worked on a starship, technically and none technically, from an enlisted perspective. On a personal note the ship made frequent stops at the Telarite home world which brought the first encounter with another betelgeusian by the name of Rame'tAmin, the pair formed a close friendship which led to dating which should have been curtailed by Evie transfer. She was posted to a Cheyenne-Class which was about to commence a long range scouting and charting mission. They were halfway into their voyage when the news of the War and orders to turn around were received. The ship arrived in the combat area two hours after the cease fire was agreed, the trip was not wasted however as the ship and crew were tasked with providing immediate humanitarian aid to the people, durrinf the restock and reconfiguration that had to be done Rame appeared on the station. The pair married on the spur of the moment and spent most of Evie off duty time locked in quarters. Much if the next daw months were spent in orbit shipping down supplies and establishing temporary critical facilities, Evie proved herself quite capable in this environment, thinking on her feet with a few ideas that impressed her Chiefs. Some were taken forward others were not, it was noted even when turned down, that she complied without public spectical. She was ordered home five months in after it was deemed her pregnancy in that environment was to great a risk to herself, those around her and her unborn child. Arriving back at Starbase 927, the soon to be mother was rotated into a position with the logistics group for the reconstruction project, After a break of a few months she returned to these duties, mixing caring for her new family with regular deployments as a detached officer aboard the ships rotating into the project area was a tricky task, but she seemed to have managed to find a balance. The Cardassia project was well along when the Hobus incident happened. With the relief structure already in place, Starfleet split the Cardassia project and formed the Romuan relief force, Evie was ordered onto a Starship assigned to this new force, her partner took their son and took up residence on Starbase 927 after both agreed the situation was far more unstable and no place for families. Evie new ship, the USS Ironsides, first the participated in the relief and rescue operations but as certain areas devolved into factions each with its own agenda and threats from external powers began to exploit the void of authority. They were ordered back to the border, three months later the ship had lost three senior officer including the XO, Evie'tOst was functioning as acting XO when the ship came upon a war bird that almost, proved one chalenge to many, the CO with only about eighty crew surviving, took the decision to return to a Starbase 927. On approach Evie was rocked by an unexpected personal development, during the course of a routine investigation her partner was found to be involved with illegal activities, unapologetic he was eventually tried and convicted for knowingly aiding in smuggling and exploitation activities. In the aftermath, the prospect of a Starbase posting once more seemed appealing, although it would mean a reduction in positional authority, it seemed the best all round move, Evie'tOst Menkova strove to carry out her duties and raise her boy. Which despite the occasional issue she managed to do well enough.She remained in that posting for a further few years, as sector operations officer, ensuring the electronic assets were functioning and used to there full potential. Always open to opportunity, both for herself and for her boy, and feeling that it was time for a shipboard posting once more she put in for a transfer. |
